In the all-new teaser for Pixar’s Elio, the tagline states, ‘What if the thing you were searching for found you first?’ This is a fitting tagline for anyone (young and old) who is looking or dreaming of something so big that it can feel out of reach—or is it?
This latest Elio teaser gives us a first look at some of the new animation, a new vocal addition, and the updated logo (as shown below). If you recall, Elio has gone through some changes since the film’s first announcement during the 2022 D23 Expo.
Those changes have included a vocal cast change-up, a new theatrical release date, and a shift in directors. Madeline Sharafian and Domee Shi have both been added as directors for the film, while the previous director, Adrian Molina, is still credited in the director role, too.

The teaser cleverly showcases Elio’s longing for space travel, with his homemade spacesuit, alien-green Christmas lights on his roof and even his mole shaped like the Orion Nebula.
One thing that stood out to us was a few scenes with Elio without his eyepatch. Could he only be wearing his eyepatch during certain hours to correct amblyopia (commonly known as a lazy eye)? Could there be a slight injury? Whatever it is, it feels very authentic and something that a child may sometimes forget to put on, and we loved that!
ELIO TEASER TRAILER MUSIC
The music from the teaser truly made you feel Elio’s longing for space. The song ‘Such Great Heights’ by the Postal Service was undoubtedly a perfect fit for this teaser. Speaking of space, when Elio finally reached his dream destination, we drew visual comparisons to past Pixar films like Coco, WALL-E, and Finding Nemo with colorful characters, movement, and lighting.
COMPARISONS BETWEEN TEASERS
From the original Elio teaser trailer to this latest release, there are many comparisons to be made. First, you can see how the team updated the logo to a more sleek space look.

Second, in the original teaser (embedded below), Elio was apprehensive about being “beamed up,” and now he’s excited about it. We’re also wondering if the “trial of Earth” from the first teaser is still in the film. Or, is Elio’s reason for being beamed up different now?

I like the first teaser, but I love this new teaser a lot more than the first one because the new one looks great! It’s one of the highly anticipated anime styled animated movies made! 😍😍😍😍😄😄😄😄
To be honest, I didn’t quite like this new trailer. The first teaser got me really excited, but the new one jut looks… dumb. 🥺
Come on. This new teaser is great and got me really excited! 😆😆😆😆😆 Besides, it’s not dumb.
