The time has come to book your next Disneyland Resort vacation as Disney’s newest hotel, the Pixar Place Hotel has just opened its doors. The re-imagined hotel previously had a beach theme and was named Paradise Pier Hotel. However, with the re-imagining of Disney’s California Adventure Paradise Pier in 2018, it was only fitting that the adjacent hotel be re-themed to match.
The re-imagining process was announced during the D23 Expo in 2022, with fans getting glimpses of several pieces of concept art. Now that concept art has come to life as the doors have opened and guests can now immerse themselves into the world, art, and stories of Pixar.
LOBBY DETAILS
The Pixar Place Hotel is filled with incredible art, fun details, and themes that will please every Pixar fan! As you enter the hotel you will be greeted by characters etched into a sliding door – however, don’t enter too quickly or you’ll miss out on some magic courtesy of the automatic doors (shown below). If only Mike Wazowski was blocked by the doorway just a touch!
Once inside the hotel, guests will be greeted by a larger-than-life version of Luxo Jr. and the Pixar ball. Be sure to glance at the flooring as there are 16 silhouettes of Pixar friends embedded into the porcelain tiles in the lobby and elevator cabs – a nod to the flooring details found at Pixar Animations Studios in Emeryville, CA.

ROOM DETAILS
Ready to rest your head after a long day at the Disneyland Resort? The guest rooms at the Pixar Place Hotel are gorgeous! Not only are they filled with little Pixar touches such as the Pixar ball in various places but there’s a Luxo Jr. lamp on the desk, and concept art from various Pixar films.
CHARACTERS
The Pixar Place Hotel is home to two Exclusive Pixar Character sightings, Bing Bong from Inside Out and Joe Gardner from Soul. While Bing Bong will roam the lobby portion of the hotel, Joe Gardner will occasionally drop by to play piano in the Soul-themed area to passersby.

POOL AREA/RESTAURANTS
The flagship restaurant of the Pixar Place Hotel is Great Maple. This modern American eatery will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The black and white Pixar portraits visible on the walls were originally created and displayed inside Pixar Animation Studios. Disney notes that this will be the first time these portraits are displayed for the public to see.

The Sketch Pad Cafe will serve more grab-and-go items, such as assorted pastries, sandwiches, and will offer a full espresso bar. Inside the cafe, guests will see early character designs and concept art from Buzz Lightyear and travel through the catalog of characters throughout the years to Mei Lee from Turning Red.

The last of the restaurants at the Pixar Place Hotel is Small Bytes located outside on the pool deck. Small Bytes will serve smaller portion snack food options such as soft pretzels, nachos, and ceviche. Guests will be able to enjoy their food and drink under characters from the Pixar short The Blue Umbrella or fireside near Pixar-themed firepits and even enjoy a view of fireworks from the Disneyland Park on select evenings.

Near Small Bytes on the third-floor rooftop deck guests will find family-friendly games to play inspired by Pixar short films, Bao, For The Birds, La Luna and Burrow.
