Panda Mei from Pixar’s Turning Red has officially made her debut at the Shanghai Disney Resort. Kicking off the momentous day (March 10, 2023) was a special welcoming ceremony to showcase the first official appearance of Panda Mei as she playfully danced with Shanghai Disneyland performers.
In late February, photos of Panda Mei spread across Twitter with news of her appearing at the Shanghai Disneyland Resort as part of a Springtime celebration, Color-Fest.
The Shanghai Disney Color-Fest is a streetside celebration that will stop not once but twice as it travels along its route, as characters break out into signature dance moves to catchy music in an explosion of colorful energy.
Guests will have the chance to catch the party as it moves between Toy Story Land and Whistle Stop Shop, brightening up the park’s spring atmosphere along its route.
After seeing Panda Mei’s official debut in Shanghai, it got us wondering if (or when) Panda Mei could make her debut in the United States. It would be amazing to have her come to the Disney World Resort or Disneyland.
We already miss the super limited appearance of the Lightfoot brothers (March 2020) and the 2022 appearance of Ernesto de la Cruz from Disneyland’s Oogie Boogie Bash.
