Guests visiting the Disneyland Resort will soon be able to surround themselves into the world of Pixar as Disney’s Pixar Place Hotel will officially open on January 30, 2024. First announced during the D23 Expo in 2012, the previous Paradise Pier hotel has gone through an extensive renovation to bring the joy and stories of Pixar to each visiting guest.
Pixar Place Lobby Details
Disney has revealed some details from the Pixar Place Hotel, including several sneak peek photos. It was also noted that the hotel will feature several never-before-seen artwork – which is sure to delight any animation and Pixar fan!
As guests enter the lobby of the hotel, greeting them upon arrival will be the ever-iconic “Luxo” the Pixar Lamp standing atop the famed Pixar ball. Floating high above the lobby will be an array of Pixar characters on a mobile depicting the beginning stages of the Pixar filmmaking process – think concept/modern art versions of beloved Pixar characters.
Guests will also find a Pixar-themed gift shop called STOR-E, aptly named after the film, WALL-E. This gift shop will feature Pixar-themed apparel and toys, including other Disneyland Resort souvenirs.
Pixar Place Hotel Guest Rooms
Taking a peek inside the newly reimagined guest rooms, the Pixar Place Hotel has been transformed at every corner. You’ll notice Pixar ball decorative pillows, Luxo lamp, and Pixar artwork featuring several films that were made exclusively for the Pixar Place Hotel and arranged in order from warm to cool colors, showcasing the importance of color tone to build emotions of a scene. Similar to the color scripts Pixar used in many of their films.
Dining Options at Pixar Place Hotel
Opening this November, Great Maple (a southern California favorite eatery) will open a flagship restaurant at the Pixar Place Hotel. Great Maple focuses on modern, American, elevated comfort food made from scratch with the highest quality of seasonal ingredients while sitting in a stylish and spacious atmosphere. Shortly after the flagship eatery opens, Great Maple will open two additional dining locations at the Pixar Place Hotel, Sketch Pad Cafe and Small Bytes.
Sketch Pad Café (a grab-and-go coffee location) will serve assorted pastries accompanied by a selection of coffee and tea. Plus, an all-new menu will debut at the rooftop pool bar to be named Small Bytes, serving up salads, wraps, assorted cheese plates, and more which you can enjoy with signature beverages.

From the moment we heard a Pixar hotel was coming to the Disneyland Resort we were beyond excited and after these inside peeks into the hotel we can without a doubt say we’re ready to book our next Disneyland trip!
