‘Toy Story 4’ Honored with 6 Nominations for the 47th Annual Annie Awards

Pixar Animation Studios honored with a total of 6 nomination for Toy Story 4 for the 47th Annual Annie Awards.

The nominations for the 47th Annual Annie Awards have been revealed with Pixar Animation Studios receiving a total of 6 nominations for Toy Story 4. The Annie Awards are presented to those who excel in the animation field and are voted upon by professionals of ASIFA Hollywood (International Animated Film Association). Unfortunately, there were no nominations for any Pixar SparkShort film, though the Academy Award Animated Short List of 10 semi-finalists will be announced on December 16, 2019.

If you recall, Pixar Animation Studios received 11 nominations for Incredibles 2 at last years’ 46th Annie Awards. Michael Giacchino was honored with the win for Outstanding Music in an Animated Feature and one of our very favorite storyboard artists, Dean Kelly was honored with the win for Outstanding Storyboarding in an Animated Feature. Academy Award-winning director, animator and art director, Ralph Eggleston was also the recipient of the Winsor McCay award.

In addition, during the 46th Annie Awards, The June Foray Award, which is given to individuals in recognition of a significant and benevolent impact within the industry of animation, was presented by director Brad Bird who gave an eloquent speech about the late Adam Burke. The 26-year veteran of the animation industry, Adam, worked on several hand-drawn films before his career brought him to Pixar Animation Studios (2003), where he worked on Cars, Ratatouille, Wall-E, Up, Toy Story 3, Cars 2, Monsters University and Incredibles 2.
