Disney’s Contemporary Resort to be re-themed after Pixar’s Incredibles franchise.

The 2019 D23 Expo is just a day away, however it looks like one of the exciting Disney Parks updates may have been revealed a bit early. In a video posted on YouTube by Theme Park Shark, we can see a new renovation project underway which showcases a new Incredibles-themed overlay coming to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. While the video only showcases the new carpeting and room numbers, it is rumored that more details will be revealed at the D23 Expo.

As Walt Disney World continues to gear up for their upcoming 50th Celebration (October 1, 2021), this upcoming announcement would make sense with all the new rides and renovations already underway. While we always love the nostalgia of classic Disney themes, the Contemporary Resort (for us) has always felt a bit ordinary. Although the thought of the Mary Blair mural coming down does make us a bit sad, however, we can’t help but think of all the new theming that could update the resort as a whole.

One such update could be re-theming of the existing Quick Service location to be The Happy Platter, after the diner scene in Incredibles 2. We’d also love to see a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique style experience which could be imagineered around Edna Mode’s design studio, having children pick their favorite superhero look, but remember “No Capes”!
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the latest updates announced at D23, but in the meantime, what are your thoughts on this potential update? Share your thoughts with other Pixar fans in the Pixar Post Forum or in the comments below.
