Blue Apron and Disney/Pixar have teamed to bring the animated world of Luca to your tastebuds. Blue Apron, the popular (and delicious) recipe/meal subscription box service, is offering Italian-themed meals based on the release of Pixar’s Luca.
The three recipes are designed to be kid-friendly and will take your tastebuds straight to the Italian Riviera – where the film takes place. This is Blue Apron‘s second collaboration with Disney and Pixar after a successful partnership surrounding the launch of Soul.
Blue Apron was gracious enough to send a box full of ingredients and recipes so that we could create our own culinary masterpieces at home. We received the Calabrian Honey Pork Chops with Roasted Vegetables & Almonds and the Oregano Chicken & Orzo with Fresh Tomato Sauce, Spinach & Feta. There is also a Dijon-Roasted Trout & Potatoes with Arugula Salad & Honey-Olive Vinaigrette option available as well.
This was our first time using Blue Apron, and we must say not only was the food delicious, but it was so easy. The packaging, directions, with numerous step-by-step photos, made it simple and fun for those who aren’t masters in the kitchen. What’s also great is that each recipe is kid-friendly and allows for even the littlest helpers to assist and make a fantastic meal.
If you are anything like us, our weekly dinnertime menu pretty much looks the same from week to week, same chicken dinners, etc. What was great about these Luca-inspired recipes from Blue Apron was that the meals were not only elevated in taste and presentation (from our usual recipes) but were so easy to make — we were floored that we made restaurant-quality food at home!
Our favorite recipe was the Oregano Chicken & Orzo with Fresh Tomato Sauce, Spinach & Feta; however, all three of us (including our 7-year old son) gobbled up all of the roasted vegetables from the Calabrian Honey Pork Chops recipe. Seriously, the veggie mix with cauliflower, capers, dried currants, almonds, red pepper, and red wine vinegar was amazing!
