Six-to-eight minutes — that’s all Pixar needs in order to make us laugh, tear up, or just plain have a good time while watching their wonderful short films. Seeing these short films has turned into one of our favorite moments when heading to the theater to see a full-length film. Like Lava paired with Inside OutPresto with WALL-E, or most recently, Bao paired with Incredibles 2, the short films aim to not only develop future talent at Pixar but also to work on technical challenges.

When the first collection of Pixar Short Films came out in 2007 (volume 2 was released in 2012), we were excited to be able to watch the shorts in a cohesive grouping. Sure, you can watch the short films as a special feature on many of the full-length feature Blu-ray or DVD releases, but, having them together in one place is great to be able to quickly move from one to the other. Plus, they often included extra items, like a Director’s Commentary track or other special looks.

Although Pixar fans in our Forum have been compiling a list of shorts films to include in a third volume since November 2013, last week, a Reddit user (as spotted by PixarsBiggestFan) found a confirmation that “volume 3” will be released soon November 13 through their Disney Movie Club subscription. UPDATED: Pixar Post reader, Aaron E., reached out and shared a screengrab of the trailer promoting the release which will come out November 13 and will include many special features (like the prior releases) — Updated post here.

The short films included on the disc are listed below:

  • Partysaurus Rex
  • The Legend of Mordu
  • The Blue Umbrella
  • Tales From Radiator Springs
  • Party Central
  • Lava
  • Sanjay’s Super Team
  • Riley’s First Date?
  • Piper
  • Lou
  • Bao

The list above only includes 11 films (out of 13 on the disc), so it leaves room for what the other two shorts would be. We would think that it possibly could include the experimental short film, Smash and Grab or maybe we could get the Cars Toons “Shorty Shorts”  rolled into one.
