Valentine’s Day couldn’t have been any sweeter this year — not only were we able to celebrate our own love, but we were able to celebrate our love of Pixar with a “super” look at Incredibles 2.
The minute-and-thirty second sneak peek trailer premiered (for some viewers) an hour and forty-five minutes into NBC’s primetime coverage of the Olympics and mirrored the plot synopsis.
In the new film, Mr. Incredible stays home and unnaturally steps into the lead parenting role (which of course leads to humor) as Elastigirl works with a telecom mogul to try and bring the “Supers” back into the spotlight.
It should be noted that while a large majority of people said they did not see the trailer on NBC, another group said that they saw it as expected. It appears that it may have been distributed to certain regions while others were omitted (at least initially) — we’ll update as we know more. Pixar has since uploaded the trailer to their YouTube channel – check it out below.
Additionally, join us tomorrow evening (February 15) at 10:00 PM ET / 7:00 PM PT for a Pixar Post YouTube Live discussion to talk all about the new trailer. What did you think about the trailer?
Leave a comment below, chat about it with other Pixar fans in the Pixar Post Forum, or leave a comment on our YouTube Live video tomorrow – we’ll cull our favorite comments and discuss them LIVE!
In “Incredibles 2,” Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell), Dash (voice of Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack—whose superpowers are about to be discovered. Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) by their side. That’s what makes this family so Incredible.
