Incredibles 2 Scoring Session

Director Brad Bird and Composer Michael Giacchino Announce the ‘Incredibles 2’ Scoring Process Has Begun

Director Brad Bird and Composer Michael Giacchino Announce Scoring Sessions have begun on Incredibles 2.

Cue our musical excitement, today composer Michael Giacchino, and director Brad Bird announced that the Incredibles 2 scoring process has begun.

In the short 15-second video (tweeted by Giacchino), the duo noted that they are on the Sony Scoring Stage about to start recording for Incredibles 2. The video doesn’t reveal much other than the scoring is underway, however, we couldn’t help but notice Brad Bird’s Incredibles-themed Pixar hat and his ‘incredible’ Jack-Jack shirt – which appears to show various stages of his powers.

If you recall, back on November 25, 2015, Giacchino officially signed his Incredibles 2 contract solidifying an already ‘super’ partnership.  When the contract was originally signed the film was slated to release June 21, 2019, however, on October 26, 2016, Pixar announced that Incredibles 2 would move up to the June 15, 2018, release (pushing back Toy Story 4 to  June 2019).

Updated February 13 – Incredibles 2 composer Michael Giacchino sent out a short video tweet this afternoon (see below) with full orchestration of the Incredibles theme. While we are thrilled to hear the familiar musical notes, we can’t help but be excited to listen to the new themes Giacchino has in store for the film.
