From the first familiar underwater scenes, we are transported back to the world of Nemo, Dory, and Marlin. Set to the tunes of Peter Gabriel’s Solsbury Hill, the trailer highlights the journey to Dory’s family and childhood friends with glimpses of characters both old and new. In what appears to be an opening sequence, Mr. Ray takes his class to the migration of the Manta Rays noting that they are going “home” – which begins to spark Dory’s memory/instinct.

A brief heart-wrenching moment comes into focus as we see a quick image of Dory’s parents with a sound clip of her mom stating, “We will never forget you Dory” and a young Dory responding, “What if I forget you”.

As the trailer continues to highlight the new characters from the Marine Life Institute we are introduced to Hank the “septopus” (voiced by Ed O’Neill), Destiny the whale shark (voiced by Kaitlin Olson), and Bailey the beluga whale (voiced by Ty Burrell) – including various other sea life. The first shot of Hank has him crouching in fear in a touch-pool as tiny hands begin to plunge in and start grabbing at the creatures. The creativity of this scene left us laughing and wanting more as we felt these characters mirrored the “Tank Gang” from Finding Nemo.
