The Art of Elio hit shelves on May 13, 2025, and is an excellent look into the making of and inspiration behind the out-of-this-world Pixar film, Elio. Any of the “Art of” books is essential in our eyes and is the best way to view the many, many pieces of inspirational artwork and photos that led to the final film’s look.

ELIO ALF EASTER EGG
Growing up, I loved the comedic 1980s television show, Alf (short for Alien Life Form). I was thrilled to see that Elio has a small nod to Alf.
As I was flipping through The Art of Elio pages and came across a character named Gunther Melmac, my nostalgic heart skipped a beat. Alf was from the planet Melmac – what a great nod to Alf naming a character after his home planet.
