Pixar’s ‘Win or Lose’ to Release December 2023 on Disney+

Just a few days ago, on May 16, Disney held its annual advertiser Upfront event featuring some news about Pixar’s long-form series, Win or Lose.

The Upfront event is hosted to entice advertisers to spend their annual budgets within Disney properties by generating interest in their upcoming projects. The two-hour session at the North Javits Center in New York City covered entertainment from Disney, ESPN, Pixar, and more.

WIN OR LOSE COMING IN DECEMBER 2023

The Pixar news this year was focused on Win or Lose, and Adweek wrapped up the Pixar segment by noting —

Pixar chief creative officer Pete Docter also appeared via video message, teasing the company’s first Disney+ show, Win or Lose, which comes to Disney+ with eight episodes in December.

During the 2020 Disney Investor Day, it was stated that Win or Lose would come to Disney+ in the Fall of 2023. If the “Fall” phrasing is taken literally, that would mean that the series would premiere before December 21 – the first official day of the winter season.

WIN OR LOSE SYNOPSIS

“Win or Lose,” Pixar Animation Studios’ first-ever original long-form animated series, follows the Pickles, a co-ed middle school softball team, in the week leading up to their championship game. Each episode offers a look inside the off-the-field life of a character—a player, their parent, the umpire—revealing their funny, emotional, and always relatable point of view in a unique visual style. Directed by Carrie Hobson and Michael Yates and produced by David Lally, “Win or Lose” streams on Disney+ in Fall 2023.
