Guests at the Disneyland Resort will soon be able to surround themselves into the world of Pixar as Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel has been officially announced to change to the Pixar Place Hotel. Announced during the Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products preview at the D23 Expo, chairman Josh D’Amaro shared that the Pixar Place Hotel will have guests feeling as though they are stepping into a Pixar art gallery with new interpretations of favorite Pixar pals.
Several pieces of concept art have been released, from the hotel exterior to the modern art-inspired lobby, showcase how the redesign will incorporate many iconic Pixar characters and studio logos with Pixar balls and, of course, Luxo, Jr. Speaking of the exterior of the hotel, D’Amaro also shared a piece of concept art of a splash pad that features many beloved Pixar aquatic pals from both Finding Nemo and Finding Dory (see photo below).
In addition, Great Maple (a southern California favorite eatery) will open a flagship restaurant at the Pixar Place Hotel. Great Maple focuses on modern, American, elevated comfort food made from scratch with the highest quality of seasonal ingredients while sitting in a stylish and spacious atmosphere. Great Maple will also operate additional food and beverage locations throughout the Pixar Place Hotel resort.
D’Amaro did not mention an opening date or timeframe for the redesign. However, we can confidently say that construction is already underway as the Paradise Pier Hotel signage and rooftop wave design is currently being removed (via WDW News Today).
