Blue Apron is teaming up once again with Disney and Pixar (like they did for Luca and Soul) to celebrate the newly released Lightyear, in theaters now. These four limited-time recipes are designed to be kid-friendly and will blast your tastebuds out-of-this-world!
Blue Apron was gracious enough to send a box full of ingredients with recipes so that we could create our own Lightyear-inspired meals at home. We received the following meals,
- Intergalactic Honey Mustard Chicken with Mashed Potatoes & Garlic-Parmesan Broccoli
- Mission Control Turkey Meatloaf Sandwiches with Roasted Green Beans & Date Ketchup
Although we did not taste-test all four recipes, these options are also available.
- Space Ranger Chicken Enchiladas with Cilantro Sauce & Caramelized Onion
- Star Command Shrimp & Orzo with Vegetables & Almond Breadcrumbs
The only recipe we felt was missing was the “meat sandwiches” from the film, you know meat-bread-meat – ha!
OUR THOUGHTS
If you’re anything like us, our weekly meal planning is very predictable as we tend to keep making the same meals over and over again! Thanks to Blue Apron we have a few new recipe ideas to throw into the mix as both recipes we were sent were fantastic!
Our favorite Lightyear-inspired recipe was the Mission Control Turkey Meatloaf, our entire family thought it was fantastic, even our 8-year-old son was wowed! From the seasoned green beans to the date ketchup spread — this was the recipe that we all wanted more of. Keep in mind that each Blue Apron recipe is crafted by a certified nutritionist to ensure healthy eating habits for not only kids, but for everyone.
