Hollywood Film Awards Honor Pixar’s ‘Coco’ with Animation Award (Watch Director Lee Unkrich’s Acceptance Speech)

Director Lee Unkrich accepts Hollywood Animation Award at the Hollywood Film Awards for Coco.

The 21st Annual Hollywood Film Awards took place last night (November 5) in Beverly Hills, California with Pixar’s Coco taking home the Hollywood Animation Award.

Presenting the honor to the Coco team was actress Eva Longoria who stated, “For a movie set primarily in the Land of the Dead, Pixar’s Coco could not be more full of life. It is funny, it is gorgeous, it is sentimental in the best way and, it is all above, very smart”.

Accepting the award was director, Lee Unkrich, who was visibly grateful to receive the honor (as the film is currently only released in Mexico, the U.S. release is set for November 22), “Thank you to the Hollywood Film Awards for honoring Coco tonight. I’m aware that not many people in this room have seen Coco yet, so it really means a lot to be receiving this honor, and I’m proud to accept it on behalf of everyone at Pixar who worked so hard on it”.

Congratulations to the entire Coco crew for the recognition of all your hard work. May this be a fantastic kickoff to an award season full of honors.
