Over the last few weeks, Pixar employees who are working on the upcoming November 22, 2017, release, Coco, have begun sharing photos of a beautiful new crew-exclusive t-shirt which provides an additional glimpse into the wonderful design elements and styling of the film.

The skull design features a fun look at the main character, Miguel with his guitar, some candles (possibly to light his way in the underworld), along with butterflies and a peacock (among other floral and skull design elements).

The tag which accompanied the shirt (signed by Director, Lee Unkrich, Producer, Darla Anderson, and Co-Director, Adrian Molina) read, “To Our Coco Familia: Gracias for all your hard work! We’re so proud to be working alongside you on this special film.”

Pixarian, Daniel Arriaga (character designer) noted that the design was created by Disney artist Stacey Aoyama (who also crafted this wonderful Inside Out poster) and had finishing touches by production designer, Harley Jessup.

Along with the updated shirt, Daniel also shared a photo of what appears to be an updated Coco logo. There is only a slight color difference in the flower petal colors within the two “O”s in the lettering (from the originally released logo) – but the new design also incorporates two crossed guitars and an additional flourish underneath the title.

We are extremely excited for this highly anticipated project and can’t wait to see and share more – in fact, Daniel also noted, “I can’t wait for the world to see this movie that is like a love letter to Mexico.”
