As Apple unveiled the latest iPad and iPhone release details at their September 9 special event, they also revealed an update to the AppleTV — the app-based HDMI device that promises a “TV experience you’ve never experienced”.
The updated interface and slick remote with touch and voice search capabilities will certainly help you get to the providers, content, and games you want quicker than ever before. And speaking of games, Eddy Cue (Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software & Services) noted during the presentation that the AppStore would be coming to the AppleTV — along with Disney Infinity 3.0.

Following Apple’s event, Disney Infinity’s VP of Production, John Vignocchi mirrored the news, noting that a special console version of Disney Infinity 3.0 with an AppleTV Starter Pack, Bluetooth base station, and “MFi” controller would be hitting shelves.
Although an official release date has yet to be revealed, it is exciting to hear that people who might not have a game console in their homes will have a new way to bring the magic of Disney Infinity to their TVs. For Pixar fans specifically, this also means another way to get users to jump into the Inside Out playset.
