Earlier this February, the Disney Parks Blog noted that the Luigi’s Flying Tires ride was going to be temporarily shut down and completely re-imagined — incorporating new technology and increased excitement. The team recently released a few additional updates to the ride, noting that Luigi’s cousins (the ride vehicles) would introduce guests to the dances of their village (Carsoli, Italy) and that the ride would be named, Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters.
The revamped ride, slated to open in early 2016, looks to be right on schedule. In fact, Erin Glover (Disneyland Resort Social Media Director) noted in the updated post that “While I don’t have specifics, we mean “early 2016″ to be very early in the year – not as late June.” Be sure to keep your eyes peeled as more details are sure to be coming soon.
A few comments on the Disney Parks Blog updated news noted that they hope there is a big enough difference between Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree and the updated “dancing” ride. Glover also eased minds by noting, “Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters will definitely be different than Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree…it will be a whole new attraction“.
