High-End ‘Precision Series’ Die Cast ‘Cars’ Characters & Play Sets – Preview at D23 Expo, In-Stores Fall 2015

Cars Precision Series Playsets

Speeding into stores this fall, a new series of high-end die-cast cars and playsets modeled after the Cars film is exactly what collectors of the franchise have been asking for. The series (releasing in waves) will feature rubber tires, movable suspension, and other distinct elements tailored to each character such as light features, specialized engines, and hoods that open and close.

The playsets which come paired with their respective die-cast cars character will be able to connect together with each other (as well as the existing “Story Sets” in stores now from Mattel).

A very exciting addition to the Radiator Springs lineup is Fillmore’s, which hasn’t been available in any of the prior play set releases. Fans can get a sneak peek of Precision Series at D23 Expo – The Ultimate Disney Fan Event – hosted at the Anaheim Convention Center August 14-16, 2015.

The first play set in the series, Flo’s V8 Café playset ($99.95 USD), will be available at retail this fall with subsequent playsets and die-cast cars launching in 2016 (Fillmore’s Spring 2016 – $49.99 USD and individual cars $9.99 USD).

Check out this exciting video from FamilyGamerTV showing additional details of each of the characters as well as the playsets.

Keep checking with Pixar Post as we’ll have all the latest details surrounding the Precision Series. We certainly hope that each character shown above will have a corresponding playset – it would be fantastic to have an Ornament Valley Mechanical Clinic playset for Doc Hudson as well as a Precision Series Ramone’s House of Body Art.

What are your thoughts on the new line? Is this a must-have series? Let us know in the comments below or chat about the sets in the Pixar Post Forum.
