Hitting theaters on June 19, 2015, Inside Out will take us into the mind of Riley, an 11-year-old girl who is uprooted from her midwest life to start anew in San Francisco, California. As Riley grows up and enters her teenage years, her emotions and personality change too. Although Riley is an important part of the movie, her emotions are the film’s main characters: Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust. This leads us to the newly released still image featuring Joy and Sadness riding on what appears to be the Train of Thought.
What’s great about this new still is that it showcases the expansiveness of the mind and you really get a sense of how big the world is – similar to the Grand Canyon. The image also features Sadness smiling and looking intently at one of Joy’s memory orbs and while we haven’t yet seen the characters express emotions other than what they represent, this small smile from Sadness has us wondering if each character poses different emotional qualities as well. It's looks mind blowing ! To where sadness and joy can go in the mind and why just them . They get lost ? I guess they will see more side charterers on the train or in their journey .. The whole wiew outside the train looks amazing .so original
what is the bright light at the corner ? rocket ?
This light maybe is the control center room .. the mind is like a desert its so cool!!
Hey Raz, yeah, Joy and Sadness do in fact get lost within Riley's mind – Pixar had talked about that a while back so I'm not revealing anything too spoiler-ish! 🙂 Also, you're right, the view outside of the train looks amazing. It's so vast yet looks like it has a ton of intricate details.
Not sure on that one – upon first glance it looks like a geyser shooting up light, but who knows at this point. So amazing!
Awwww yea! This is a great still. Can't wait to see the context! So happy we're slowly getting a little more of what this movie will look like 🙂
I know – it's so awesome!
