Just a few weeks ago, La Luna director, Enrico Casarosa tweeted about a new story app that was released which highlighted the beautifully crafted short. After we dug into La Luna: The Story Project, we couldn’t stop thinking about how stunning the app was and how much it really enhanced the short beyond the beauty that it already has.
So, how does the app enhance the short? To help answer that we created a short video review that shows all the amazing elements that allow you to dig into the rich history of the short film. From the beautiful watercolor storyboards to the behind-the-scenes look at the sound and visuals design, this app is amazing in all aspects we highly recommend it.
After viewing all of the elements in this app over the last few weeks, we couldn’t help but think that we’d love to see this level of quality and detail created for each and every Pixar short film. What are your thoughts? Let us know what you think of the app and if you’d like to see more apps like this created for other Pixar short films.
You can view the La Luna: The Story Project app on the Apple App Store by clicking here — Updated: unfortuntely, the app is no longer offered for sale and has been removed.
Awesome app! Pixar should make a Pixar Animated app, just like the Disney Animated app!
That's a great idea Max – I thought the same thing after I started digging around in the Disney Animated app too. With as much great behind the scenes info as their is for Pixar's feature films on the Blu Rays, I'd really love to see an app made for the short films too.
I am really sad to hear that this is unavailable. Is there any way to get it, or is there something else that is similar? I love the film but didn’t discover it till I had a grandchild.
Hello Elizabeth – that’s so great that you found La Luna and connected to it the way you did. Unfortunately, we haven’t found any other apps or sites that dive deep into La Luna like this. If something ever pops up, we’ll be sure to post about it and let you know.
