Cars Character Encyclopedia Book Review

Pixar Cars Character Encyclopedia Review

DK Publishing has outdone itself again with the release of the Cars Character Encyclopedia (by Jo Casey) and in true DK-form, the level of detail in the book is amazing – providing not only the name of the car but also incorporating how many versions/variations of the car exist as well as numerous facts about the cars (as seen in the sample pages below).

We also really loved the fact that the book showcases many cars that have not yet been released (like Francesco’s mom – Mama Bernoulli and the illusive Rip Clutchgoneski in 1:55 scale).

The book is broken down into three main sections – Cars, Cars 2, and Car Toons, so you can easily find the car you’re looking for (it even has an alphabetical index for easy searching).

The book measures 7.44 inches tall by 9.5 inches wide by 1.5 inches thick (the physical pages are only .38 inches thick as the inside core of the book houses a fold-out double-sided poster of Lightning McQueen, as well as an exclusive Lightning McQueen, die-cast car).

Although the book doesn’t come with details on every car ever released, this is still a great reference piece to have if you’re a collector or just a fan of the Cars franchise – plus, the price is so reasonable (it’s really a steal, especially when you factor in the exclusive die-cast Lightning McQueen).
