The official Pixar Facebook page posted the following three images noting that they, “traveled far and wide to design the mysterious standing stones”. The three pictures show the original photo taken during one of Pixar’s research trips. The second photo is a mockup from the Visual Department. The final photo is the final frame, as seen in the movie.
