The 78th Golden Globe Awards were held on February 28, 2021, and Pixar’s Soul was just awarded the wins for Best Motion Picture — Animated AND for Best Original Score — Motion Picture.
Accepting the award for Best Animated Film were co-directors, Pete Docter, Kemp Powers, and producer Dana Murray. For the Best Original Score win, Jon Batiste, Trent Reznor, and Atticus Ross offered their appreciation for the win.

For the category of Best Motion Picture — Animated, the wins for Soul marks the ninth Golden Globe win for Pixar Animation Studios and the third win for Director (and Chief Creative Officer), Pete Docter.
For the category of Best Score, the win for Soul marks the third nomination and second win for a Pixar film.

BEST MOTION PICTURE — ANIMATED
The history behind the Golden Globes category for Best Animated Feature Film began in the 2006/2007 award season (64th Annual Golden Globes) with Pixar Animation Studios claiming the coveted award each nominated year until the 2012 award season when The Adventures of Tintin was awarded over Cars 2.
During the 71st Annual Golden Globes, Pixar’s Monsters University was the studio’s first film that had been omitted from the Best Animated Feature Film category with the three nominations going to The Croods, Frozen, and Despicable Me 2.
