‘Inside Out’ Wins at the Producers Guild of America Awards & What’s Next For Pete Docter and Jonas Rivera

The 27th Annual Producers Guild of America (PGA) Awards were held this past Friday (January 23, 2016) and Inside Out Producer, Jonas Rivera took home the award for “Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures”. What may be equally exciting as the victory for Jonas and the studio is what Pete Docter (Director) and Rivera said during an interview on the red carpet – they revealed a small detail as to their next project (details below).

The PGA Awards celebrate the finest producing work of the year and honors the achievements of those who have shaped the profession. Pixar Animation Studios was honored with three nominations across two categories with Inside Out (Jonas Rivera), The Good Dinosaur (Denise Ream), and Toy Story That Time Forgot (Gayly Susman) being recognized for the work.

During a red carpet interview (via GoldDerby), Pete Docter and Jonas Rivera noted their gratitude for the entire Pixar team that worked on Inside Out, but also looked forward as they expressed their excitement about pitching a few new ideas to John Lasseter this week.

“We’re excited, it’s been a great five year journey on this [Inside Out], we love this film we’re proud of it but we’re excited to work on something new, something totally different, something no one’s ever seen before – so stay tuned!”
