Video Featuring Mark Andrews at The Glasgow School of Arts

The Glasgow School of Art is internationally recognized as one of Europe’s foremost university-level institutions for creative education and research in fine art, design, and architecture. Mark Andrews (Director of Brave) has been mentoring and encouraging students at The Glasgow School of Arts this past week and will continue to support the students through April 19th (as we noted in a January 22 post).

Cabinet Secretary for Culture and External Affairs, Fiona Hyslop, extended the invitation to Andrews after a visit to Pixar Animation Studios during Scotland Week in 2012.

“Mark Andrews is one of Hollywood’s hottest talents, and I am thrilled that he has accepted my invitation to come to Scotland to work with students here. The opportunity to learn from such a hugely successful and experienced filmmaker is very rare indeed, and I have no doubt that it will be a valuable one. This skills-sharing and mentoring program could not have happened without Brave and the resultant strong links between Disney•Pixar and Scotland. It is a tangible result of that engagement and my visit to Pixar Studios during Scotland Week last year.” said Ms. Hyslop.

The Scottish Government released this video featuring Mark Andrews and Fiona Hyslop.

My Scottish roots…I found out I was Scottish many, many years ago and I have fallen in love with it. I’ve been here several times, so I feel like this is another home – I feel an affinity here, a connection here and I just want to keep that going”. – Mark Andrews
