If you’re anything like us, after watching Toy Story 5 numerous times, you wanted ALL the new toys. The big want for everyone seems to be the Hi-Tech Edition of Buzz Lightyear. Well, thanks to Mattel, this toy has come to life and is now available for pre-order.
Unlike the original Buzz Lightyear, this IS a flying toy!
The film version of Hi-Tech Buzz Lightyear included an LED chestplate screen, and while that would be the dream to have that tech in a Buzz figure, the Mattel version features the High-Tech Buzz Lightyear’s high-flying action as a remote-controlled figure.
This innovative new toy retails for $74.99 and is now available for pre-order from Walmart, with an expected ship date around August 20, 2026.
Now, if you are seeking a non-flying version of the Hi-Tech Buzz Lightyear. Mattel has also released a 12” Scale Flight Mode Hi-Tech Edition Buzz Lightyear, complete with 35+ Sounds.
This 12″ Hi-Tech Buzz Lightyear is around $40 and was available at Walmart and Target; however, at the time of posting, they all appear to be sold out. With the popularity of the film, we can hope that a new release of these toys will continue throughout the summer and into the Holiday season.
Well it’s August 20 and my buzz has not shipped from Walmart even though they charged me a week ago. Anyone else experiencing this issue?
