Now streaming on Disney+, Inside Out 2 is continuing to find ways to connect with audiences as it broke streaming records in its first five days on the service.
Netting a calculated 30.5 million global views within the first five days, Inside Out 2 has achieved the following records, according to The Walt Disney Company. (Disney defines a view as “total stream time divided by runtime.”)
- #1 film premiere on Disney+ in 2024
- #1 theatrical film premiere on Disney+ since Encanto (2021)
- #1 film premiere of all time on Disney+ in EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) and LATAM (Latin America)
The Disney+ streaming records are on top of the blistering box office performance as the eighth highest-grossing film of all time ($1.69 Billion globally) and the number one animated film of all time.
Disney doesn’t always make it easy to compare streaming totals against films since they compare 3-day streaming views, 5-day streaming views, or even the total number of monthly minutes streamed. But, for a recent apples-to-apples comparison, it was reported that Elemental had 26.4 million views and The Little Mermaid (Live Action) had 16 million views in their first five days of streaming.
