Kicking off the day, the Pixar crew, along with the vocal talent, were on hand for the Photo Call event (posing for photos for the press). In addition to the US vocal talent, Vincent Lacoste (French voice of Wade) and Adèle Exarchopoulos (French voice of Ember) were also in attendance.

Arriving for the awards portion (and screening), the Pixar crew looked as dapper as could be.

Later that evening, and before the closing ceremonies and screening of Elemental, Pete Docter was on hand to award the Best Director award to Trần Anh Hùng for his film La Passion De Doudin Bouffant (The Pot au Feu).

After the screening, you could feel the passion and emotions radiating off of Peter Sohn and Denise Ream. They were so appreciative of the reception Elemental received – this experience must have been magical with all the years of passion poured into the film.

As shown in the video at the top of this post, Sohn mentioned, “It’s an honor to bring this film to Cannes. Thierry, it’s an honor” (Thierry Fremaux is the Film Festivals chief). “My heart is about to explode. This film has been about the richness of diversity. Our lives are better when there are different points of view.”

Following the 9:45 PM screening of the film, fireworks and an Elemental light show took place outside the venue.
