Director Enrico Casarosa Confirms ‘Luca’ Teaser/Trailer Coming by Month End

New Pixar Luca trailer is coming in February as confirmed by director Enrico Casarosa.

Pixar’s upcoming film Luca is just mere months away with its June 18, 2021, theatrical release, and yet we still haven’t seen any teasers or trailers from the film. Well, that time will happen very shortly as director Enrico Casarosa confirmed today via Twitter that the first teaser/trailer for Luca will be coming by the end of the month.

In addition to the exciting news that a teaser/trailer will be coming soon, this past week Pixar released a red Luca poster in celebration of the Chinese New Year. The new international poster features characters Luca and Alberto jumping into the sea, which is a similar pose to the previously released concept art.

DETAILS & EXTRAS

Director — Enrico Casarosa
Producer — Andrea Warren

Below is a brief history with links for additional details — Luca was first announced on July 30, 2020, with the synopsis of the film as follows: Set in a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera, Disney and Pixar’s original feature film “Luca” is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta, and endless scooter rides. Luca shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, but all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: they are sea monsters from another world just below the water’s surface.

“This is a deeply personal story for me, not only because it’s set on the Italian Riviera where I grew up, but because at the core of this film is a celebration of friendship. Childhood friendships often set the course of who we want to become and it is those bonds that are at the heart of our story in ‘Luca,’” said Enrico Casarosa, director. “So in addition to the beauty and charm of the Italian seaside, our film will feature an unforgettable summer adventure that will fundamentally change Luca.”

Jumping to December 10, 2020, during the Disney Investor Call the Pixar team revealed the new logo for Luca (as shown above).
In January 2021, we got a sneak peek of the first screenshot of the film along with an updated film synopsis:

Set in a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera, Disney and Pixar’s original feature film “Luca” is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. Luca shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, but all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: they are sea monsters from another world just below the water’s surface. During their fun-filled summer, the duo, who appear human on dry land, befriend a human girl along the way.
