Have you purchased your Toy Story 4 pre-sale tickets yet? If you’re reading this, chances are, you have and you’re not alone. In fact, the Toy Story 4 pre-sale numbers are starting to trickle out and it appears the unstoppable force of Buzz and Woody have now set a new record for first-day pre-sales for an animated film (previously held by Incredibles 2).
According to Deadline, Fandango is reporting that Toy Story 4 soared past the first 24-hour advance ticket sales of Finding Dory, live-action Beauty and the Beast, and Guardian’s of the Galaxy Vol.2. While Atom Tickets noted that Toy Story 4 has sold nearly 50% more tickets than their top 3 animated movie pre-sales combined (for the same time period), which includes Incredibles 2, Ralph Breaks the Internet, and Hotel Transylvania 3.
Pixar is no stranger when it comes to setting records, in fact, Incredibles 2 continues to be the highest domestic opening for an animated feature film with $235.8M. However, with all the discussion of record-breaking pre-sales, early tracking numbers estimate that Toy Story 4 could have a $100-$150M opening weekend (according to Variety), although a larger record-breaking total is definitely not out of the question.
