Late last week, Pixar announced an updated timeline for several films, pushing the release date of Toy Story 4 back one year and assigning dates to the previously noted “coming soon” titles of Cars 3 and The Incredibles 2.
Along with the date change, Disney officially announced (via the official Disney Post and Disney Insider blogs) that two additional previously unannounced Pixar projects would also hit the big screen in 2020. This is significant news on two fronts — first, no prior films had been noted after 2019, and second, the films are slated to be released just three months apart.
Untitled project #1 – March 13, 2020
Untitled project #2 – June 19, 2020
The news also creates a swirl of thoughts as we ponder what the stories will be about and who will direct these films. What are your thoughts on films or directors? Leave a comment below or chat about it with other fans in the Pixar Post Forum.
