The popular ABC television show Once Upon A Time will be adding a feisty new character to the line-up as Merida will be making her live-action debut. The fairy tale drama (which premiered in 2011) has been a hit with audiences as appearances from classic princesses such as Snow White to Frozen’s Anna and Elsa have transported viewers into a world of fantasy.
Officially announced at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Scottish actress Amy Manson will transform into the boisterous princess complete with her ringlets of wild red hair and mischievous spirit. With the announcement, ABC released a teaser trailer showcasing Merida’s archery skills in the live-action world.
It is uncertain how large of a role Merida will play in the upcoming season, which is set to premiere on September 27, but we are sure to set our DVRs to watch Pixar’s first live-action portrayal. Thanks to our reader Aidan for the tip.
