Congratulations San Francisco, you’ve ruined pizza!
In a newly released Inside Out clip (via Pixar YouTube channel) we are given an extended look at how Riley is introduced to the dreaded San Francisco pizza. The footage focuses on Joy keeping Riley upbeat despite her father being called away unexpectedly for business.
As Riley watches her father run out the door to meet investors for his start-up company, Brang, her expression turns somber. This leaves Joy to break the obvious emotional tension and remind Riley of a pizza place down the street.
The shining moment (for us) in this clip was the subtle changes to Riley’s facial expression as well as the catchlight in her eyes. Details such as these really add the emotional connection between the audience and the characters and we can’t wait to see more.
