Composer Michael Giacchino Working on Score for Ratatouille Ride in Disneyland Paris

Michael Giacchino Ratatouille Ride Score

Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino is no stranger to enhancing Pixar films with his incredible musical talent. It was a pleasant surprise today when he tweeted a photo stating that he was working on the score for the new year Ratatouille-themed ride set to open this Summer in Disneyland Paris.

The new Ratatouille-themed dark ride called, Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy (loosely translated to Ratatouille: The Adventure of Zany Remy) is set to open this Summer along with other Ratatouille based shops, boutiques as well as a rat-scale restaurant.

What you may not know is that Giacchino has already tapped into the theme park world, having complimented many theme park rides including Luigi’s Flying Tires in Cars Land at Disney’s California Adventure.

Toy Story of TERROR! Soundtrack Giacchinio

Giacchino most recently worked with Pixar on their first 30-minute television special, Toy Story of TERROR!, which aired in October of 2013. As we dove into the Toy Story of TERROR! soundtrack we were reminded of Giacchino’s knack for creating characters through his musical notes rather than a visual display. An example of this comes from an expert from our soundtrack review:

The track, “Ballad of Combat Carl” is one of the only character themes that we’re introduced to in the soundtrack with brassy, militant touches that truly let you know that Carl is a war hero who’s seen his share of battles.

We can’t help but wonder if Michael will also score Pixar’s next television special Toy Story That Time Forgot as well – I guess only time will tell.
