One day after Lightyear director, Angus MacLane noted that the sci-fi adventure film is one-hundred percent complete, Pixar released a “Special Look” which is packed with two-and-a-half minutes of straight action. Heck, they might as well say it’s another Lightyear trailer altogether!
Along with the new footage is a beautiful payoff poster featuring all the main cast from the film. Watch the trailer embedded below or on Pixar’s YouTube channel.
PAYOFF POSTER
We would anticipate that this will be the final poster for the film (as the payoff posters usually are). It should also be noted that this is the first poster for the film to note the film’s rating — Lightyear is rated PG (for Action and Peril).
SYNOPSIS
Lightyear is in theaters on June 17, 2022.
A sci-fi action-adventure and the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear, the hero who inspired the toy, “Lightyear” follows the legendary Space Ranger after he’s marooned on a hostile planet 4.2 million light-years from Earth alongside his commander, and their crew. As Buzz tries to find a way back home through space and time, he’s joined by a group of ambitious recruits and his charming robot companion cat, Sox. Complicating matters and threatening the mission is the arrival of Zurg, an imposing presence with an army of ruthless robots and a mysterious agenda.
