Music is all Joe Gardner thinks about — in fact, he’s obsessed. This is one of the key setups for Pixar’s Soul streaming on Disney+ starting December 25, 2020. The second full-length trailer (2:23) for the film has just dropped and it starts right into Joe’s musical obsession — that is, until he falls through a manhole cover and dies — well, sort of.
Joe panics when he realizes that his soul is on the way to The Great Beyond (or, death) and tears through some kind of fabric in the universe and falls into The Great Before — a wonderfully jovial place where new souls get their personalities, quirks, and interests before they go to Earth.

Joe partners with 22 (a perpetually stubborn soul), to journey back to Earth and regain his life. But, watch out, the numbers-obsessed, Terry, knows something is awry and sets off to find the missing soul.

What did you guys think of the trailer? We personally loved 22’s hilarious line where she says, “Don’t worry, you can’t crush a soul here, that’s what life on Earth is for.” This is the perfect line from a character who can’t see any value in living a life on Earth. Remember, as Joe says, “life is full of possibilities, you just need to know where to look.”
