Opening in just one week on June 30, Toy Story Land at the Walt Disney World Resort is gearing up to be quite the immersive experience, as Walt Disney Imagineering put the final details into place. In a series of newly released videos, the team showcased Toy Story Land at NIGHT, new themed merchandise, and new graphics appearing on the decorative toy boxes — including a bit of a backstory on Wheezy (as seen in the first video embedded below).
“The graphics tell a story because they really help ground where you are,” said Graphic Designer Alexis Cummins. “Any visual is really going to do that for guests, especially at Toy Story Land. We’re using all of the things Andy would actually have at his disposal to make our signs and graphics.”
The second video features how bright and colorful Toy Story Land can be even when the sun goes down and honestly, we feel that Alien’s Swirling Saucers was created for a nighttime setting — the lighting is spectacular! Speaking of Alien Swirling Saucers, you’ll get a peek at some of the new merchandise from Disney Parks Toy Merchandiser Dan Vega as he shows off some new die-cast vehicles and other fun toys inspired by Toy Story Land.
Adding to the excitement of Toy Story Land, the new 10-acre expansion will also feature a new quick-service dining location, Woody’s Lunchbox that will offer numerous classic dishes with a modern twist, and Culinary Director Robert Adams shares some of those new items with rave reviews the taste testers. Watch the embedded videos below for all of the fun details.
In addition, Disney has updated their My Disney Experience App and the Walt Disney World website with an aerial view of Toy Story Land — including all of the attractions. Stay tuned to PixarPost.com as we will be attending the opening day of Toy Story Land bringing you all the news from our visit.
