Pixar Pier at Disney’s California Adventure – New Details Including an ‘Inside Out’ Attraction & ‘Incredibles’ Rollercoaster

New details released on Pixar Pier coming to Disney’s California Adventure

As announced during the D23 Expo this past summer, Paradise Pier at Disney’s California Adventure would be re-imagined into Pixar Pier. Today, Disney Parks Blog released new details and artist renderings on this ‘Incredible’ transformation. The pier will be made up of four distinct neighborhoods — each inspired by a favorite Pixar story.

The first neighborhood will transport guests into the world of the Parr family as The Incredibles will take over with a thrilling Incredicoaster — a permanent transformation of California Screamin’, complete with a mid-century modern style loading area, new character moments, and new ride vehicles.

As guests continue down the pier they’ll be greeted with the fan-favorite, Toy Story Mania! attraction in the Toy Story-inspired neighborhood. On the western side of the boardwalk, an Inside Out-inspired neighborhood will host a new family-friendly attraction, scheduled to open at a later date.

The final neighborhood will be a celebration of several Pixar stories starting with the transformation of Mickey’s Fun Wheel. Though the wheel will keep its iconic Mickey face from the Paradise Bay view, the gondolas will feature different Pixar characters. In addition, the Games of the Boardwalk will now showcase Pixar characters, similar to the existing Bullseye Stallion Stampede.

Disney Parks Blog is noting that California Screamin’, Mickey’s Fun Wheel, Games of the Boardwalk, and Sideshow Shirts will close on January 8 as Pixar Pier begins its transformation.

Pixar Pier is scheduled to open during Pixar Fest, a limited-time celebration beginning April 13. The celebration includes a new firework show titled, “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular”, the return of the Pixar Play Parade, and the popular “Paint the Night” parade, and that’s just a few of the festivities that will take place throughout the Disneyland Resort.
