‘Inside Out 2’ Smashes Box Office Expectations with $295 Million Worldwide Opening Weekend

Anxiety from Inside Out 2 meets Joy with enthusiasm for the first time.

No need to call for Pouchy! The team behind ‘Inside Out 2’ has already found the tools to make the film a box office success, with opening weekend raking in a mind-blowing $295 million worldwide total!

Pixar is undoubtedly pleased that theatergoers have been flocking back to cinemas instead of waiting for releases on Disney+.

If you recall, several Pandemic-era Pixar films (‘Turning Red,’ ‘Soul’ and ‘Luca’) were released straight to Disney+, and as Pixar re-entered the theaters with Lightyear’ and ‘Elemental,’ audiences seemed to be trained to wait for the at-home streaming release.

‘Inside Out 2‘ grossed an outstanding $155 million domestically, making it the second highest domestic grossing Pixar film behind 2018’s ‘Incredibles 2‘ ($182 million).

Adding the $140 million International box office success with the domestic totals, ‘Inside Out 2’ has claimed the record for the highest-grossing global opening weekend for an animated film.

We couldn’t be more excited that the world seems to be rediscovering watching Pixar films back in the theaters.
