D23 Expo News — ‘Inside Out 2’ Announced

Pixar Animation Studios just announced that Inside Out 2 is underway with a release date of Summer 2024. Pete Docter and Amy Poehler (voice of Joy) announced the news on the main stage in Hall D23 during the Studio Showcase: Celebrate the Magic of Disney and Pixar event.

Inside Out 2 is written by Meg LeFauve, Directed by Kelsey Mann, and Produced by Mark Nielsen. Amy Poehler is back to voice Joy.

PLOT SYNOPSIS

Inside Out 2 is an all-new adventure inside the head of now-teenager Riley—who may or may not be feeling all kinds of new Emotions.

The original film was released to theaters on June 19, 2015, and took us into the mind of Riley, an 11-year-old girl who is uprooted from her midwest life to start anew in San Francisco, California. As Riley entered her teenage years, her emotions and personality changed too, introducing us to the film’s main characters: Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust.
