Toy Story 3 broke ground as the first animated movie to surpass $1 Billion in global box office revenue on August 27, 2010 — 70 days from its release of June 18. Since that time, the list of animated films that have reached the $1 Billion mark has grown to include the likes of Frozen, Zootopia, and Minions (among others). The “fin-tastic”, Finding Dory also achieved the $1 Billion milestone for Pixar Animation Studios in 114 days (on October 9, 2016) from its June 17 release date.
As of July 31, another Pixar film has been added to the list — Incredibles 2. The superhero film reached the milestone faster than any animated film at only 46 days from its release date (June 15) and isn’t showing signs of stopping. In fact, the film still has 13 markets to open in (as of August 2) with the film releasing in Japan yesterday (August 1).

It goes without saying that since there have only been 36 films (across all genres of film) that have surpassed this revenue total, that it is a major accomplishment for Brad Bird and the entire Pixar crew.
